Calendar days, weekdays and business days
Calendar days count every day, weekends included. Weekdays count Monday to Friday. Business days here means weekdays that are not federal holidays, using the observed date when a holiday falls on a weekend. For example, when July 4 lands on a Saturday, federal offices close on Friday, July 3, and that Friday is skipped.
Banks follow the Federal Reserve holiday schedule, which is close to the federal list but handles Saturday holidays differently. Read how to count business days for payroll, shipping and deadline examples.
